Shopify Integration Partners: What You Get When You Actually Connect Them
TL;DR
Shopify integration partners are not extra widgets. They are the apps you already pay for, read during the same on-page conversation as the live Catalog API. Connect the ones you run. Leave the rest alone.

Look. Nobody on r/shopify is asking for a fifteenth app.
They are asking why the fourteen they already pay for still act like strangers.
Reviews in one tab. Points in a widget nobody opens. Email in a popup they close. Support starting from a blank ticket. That is the merchant complaint, said out loud, for years.
Shopify integration partners are ShopGuide's answer to that complaint. One feature. The partner cards on Settings → Integrations. The agent reads those systems during the same turn it reads your catalog.
Not a new operating system. Not a replacement stack. Context, in the path.
What merchants actually say they want to read
Public threads are blunt.
On r/shopify_growth a store had 18 apps. Each one solved a small job. Together they slowed the site and made the admin confusing. The useful reply was not "install better apps." It was "the fragmentation is the problem."
Another operator posted an audit. Fourteen apps. £180 a month. They cut it to six. The keepers were email, reviews, back-in-stock, and lead capture. The rule they wrote down: an app stays if you can point to revenue it made in the last 30 days.
Same pattern everywhere. Too many half-jobs. Tracking nobody trusts. A quarterly purge down to 10 or 12 tools.
That is what merchants want to read about Shopify integration partners. Not a logo wall. What happens to the shopper when the paid tools finally talk.
The feature: connect the partners you already run
ShopGuide is an on-page agent. It sits in a theme block. It looks up products from the live Shopify Catalog API while it talks, so stock, variants, and price match the warehouse.
Shopify integration partners attach to that conversation. They do not get their own chat window. They do not add a second script farm.
The public list is on the integrations page. Six partners. That is the set that exists today.
| Partner | What you already bought | What connecting it does in chat | What you paste |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shopify Catalog API | Products, stock, price | Live lookup of inventory, variants, and price | Nothing. Native. |
| Klaviyo | Email and SMS | Captures the email, tags the profile, fires named chat events | Private API key |
| Judge.me | Verified reviews | Pulls a matching review and photo proof into the answer | Public API token |
| Rivyo | Reviews and UGC | Surfaces Rivyo proof next to the recommendation | Public API token |
| Smile.io | Points and VIP tiers | Answers "how many points do I have?" with a live balance | API token |
| Alia | Personalized incentives | Keeps the Alia offer in context after the popup is gone | On by default |
| Slack | Team comms | Posts customer, cart, and a transcript link when a human is needed | Incoming webhook URL |
That table is the merchant value.
A sizing question can quote a real review instead of sounding confident for no reason.
A returning shopper can hear "you have 500 points, that is $5 off today" instead of hunting a badge.
A closed popup is not a dead offer.
A human picks up with the transcript and the cart instead of "please describe your issue."
On a 200-SKU boutique this is polite. On a 10,000-SKU catalog it is how the same question stops becoming a ticket.
Deep dives if you only run one pairing: Klaviyo, Judge.me and Rivyo, Smile.io, Alia, Slack. How the scan finds what is already on the theme: automatic app detection. The full partner map: Shopify integration partners.
How ShopGuide is integrated into Shopify
Shopify integration partners only work because ShopGuide already lives in three places.
1. Theme block. You add the ShopGuide Chat section in the theme editor. Launch messages, visibility, and styling live in the app admin. One storefront surface.
2. Shopify Admin. The dashboard sits in the Shopify admin sidebar. Home, Dashboard, Test your Guide, Chat History, Integrations, Settings. Chat-attributed revenue shows up there. There is no second login.
3. Catalog API at talk time. The agent reads Shopify's Catalog API during the reply. Stock. Variants. Metafields. Partner context attaches to that same turn. Sold-out SKUs should not get recommended as available.
That is the wiring. Partners ride it. They do not replace it.
How to connect a partner
Open ShopGuide → Settings → Integrations.
ShopGuide checks your published theme for app embeds it recognizes. Those apps land at the top under "Looks like you use these," with an On your store badge. The badge saves you hunting logos. It does not connect anything by itself.
Then connect the ones you run:
- Klaviyo, Judge.me, Rivyo, Smile.io: generate an API key or token in that app and paste it on its card.
- Slack: create an incoming webhook for the channel and paste the URL.
- Alia: on by default when your Alia polls are active.
You do not have to connect every logo. A store on Judge.me and Klaviyo does not need Rivyo or Alia for the agent to be useful.
Docs also mention WhatsApp handoff and nine Sidekick tools inside Shopify Admin. Those are real. They are not tiles on the public partner page. The page is the six logos above. Sidekick is native Shopify, not a third-party card.
Honest limits
Say this before you paste a token.
ShopGuide does not replace Klaviyo, Judge.me, Rivyo, Smile.io, Alia, or Slack. If the partner app is missing or misconfigured, there is nothing to read.
Detection is a heuristic. It sees app embeds on the published theme. An app installed but not on the theme will not badge itself. Connect it by hand.
Reviews in chat are only as good as the reviews you collected. An empty catalog means empty social proof.
Smile.io only helps once the shopper is identified. A first-time anonymous visitor has no points to surface.
Klaviyo still owns the flow. ShopGuide hands it the moment. The named events are ShopGuide Chat Engaged, ShopGuide Order Attributed, and ShopGuide NPS Submitted. Follow-up only works if the shopper gives an email.
Slack is a one-way webhook. ShopGuide posts context into a channel. Your team resolves in Shopify or the ShopGuide admin, not by replying in Slack.
The Catalog API keeps stock honest. It does not write your descriptions. Thin product data still produces thin answers.
Shopify integration partners are context in the path. They are not a new backend for the store.
Agents will become a common way people shop. Commerce just plugs in and feels seamless in conversations.
That line is the climax, and it is not a ShopGuide slogan. It is how Shopify describes the channel.
Harley Finkelstein put the merchant version next to it. Results inside an agent are merit-based. "The products that will be found will be merit-based as opposed to ad-based. I think that’s democracy. That’ll level the playing field."
ShopGuide's job on your store is smaller than that vision. Put the agent on the page. Read the catalog. Bring in the partner facts you already pay for. Hand off to a human with the transcript when the agent is stuck.
Connect the Shopify integration partners you run. Leave the rest alone.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are Shopify integration partners in ShopGuide?
The apps ShopGuide can read from or write to during a guided session: Klaviyo, Judge.me, Rivyo, Smile.io, Alia, and Slack, plus the native Shopify Catalog API. The public list lives on the integrations page.
How is ShopGuide integrated into Shopify?
Three places. A theme block on the storefront. A native app in the Shopify admin for analytics and settings. Live reads from the Shopify Catalog API during chat. Partners attach to that same conversation.
What do I get when I connect a partner?
The paid context shows up in chat. Reviews in the answer. Points as a sentence. A Klaviyo event when the session matters. A Slack ping with the transcript when a human is needed.
Do I have to replace my current apps?
No. Keep the apps that already work. ShopGuide reads them. It does not ask you to rip Klaviyo or Judge.me out.
How do I turn a partner on?
Open Settings → Integrations. Klaviyo, Judge.me, Rivyo, and Smile.io each need an API key or token pasted on their card. Slack needs an incoming webhook URL. Alia is on by default.
Does ShopGuide find my apps automatically?
It badges apps it recognizes on your published theme, so you know which cards to fill in. You still paste the credentials. See automatic app detection.
Will this add more scripts and slow the storefront?
ShopGuide is one theme block. It does not install a second copy of Klaviyo or Judge.me. Partner apps keep their own scripts. The integration is the agent reading those systems.
What if I only use some of the partners?
Use the ones you have. Partial stacks still work.
Does Slack let my team reply inside Slack?
No. Slack gets an alert with customer, cart, and a transcript link. Resolution stays in Shopify or the ShopGuide admin so the history lives in one place.
